Tonight we start getting Eric ready for his big day. First up: a special shower with chlorhexidine soap—2 full minutes of scrubbing his chest and groin (he’s thrilled, can’t you tell?). Then at 1 a.m. and again at 5 a.m., he’ll be wiped down with CHG cloths while he tries to sleep through it.

At 6:30 a.m., the surgical and anesthesia teams will come in to talk us through everything—and yes, they’ve already promised Eric his “silly juice” to keep things light and make him smile before heading back.

We’re soaking in every moment with him tonight—so proud of his strength, his courage, and that signature smile. Please continue to keep him, the medical team, and the donor’s family in your prayers. Tomorrow is a big day.
