Hopeful Days and Continued Support

We’re thrilled to share some encouraging updates about our brave transplant warrior, Jax.

Jax, now six years old, is in recovery from a bone marrow transplant and has recently reached a few big milestones in his journey. After 14 long months, Jax has officially been taken off cyclosporine, the immunosuppressant that’s been a huge part of his life since transplant. This marks a major step forward for his healing immune system and brings renewed hope for long-term health and stability.

Even more good news: doctors have also said Jax won’t have to come to the hospital quite as often. For a young boy—and a family who’s been balancing constant hospital visits, long drives, missed work, and interrupted fun—this “bi-week” break is a much-welcomed breath of fresh air.

At his last appointment in late June, Jax’s lab numbers were the best they’ve ever been. If things keep trending in this positive direction, he may be dropping a few more medications in the coming weeks. Every small step forward is a huge victory.

To support Jax and his family, we’re hosting a fundraiser on Wednesday, July 17, at Chick-fil-A on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., any order placed through the Chick-fil-A app using the code “Jaxson” will help cover Jax’s lifetime of transplant-related expenses. Grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner—and help give Jax a brighter tomorrow.

We are so proud of Jax’s strength and thankful for every person standing with him. Thank you for being part of his journey.
