It’s crazy to think about everything Gillian’s body has been through over the last week. She is definitely a fighter and she has impressed everyone with her perseverance and grace. Through it all she thanked everyone that came into her room and did her best to give a smile. She is my sunshine and my hero & she continually exceeds everyone’s expectations, I could not be happier or more proud of this incredible woman!! 💜🥹 Over the last 24hours Gillian went from 16 IV lines to 3, her surgical drains were removed and the pain catheters in her back were removed. She has been sitting in a chair multiple times & Physical Therapy came this morning, hoping to get a few steps in and she pushed herself to walk from her room to the end of the unit. We washed her hair for the first time since surgery and she feels like a new woman. Today is a perfect day 💜 It’s still going to be a long road from here, which is why we’re grateful for the support of the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) which is helping us raise money in honor of Gillian to support lifelong transplant-related expenses.
