Gillian had an appointment with her specialist yesterday. We are happy to say that he is impressed and so proud of her and the progress she has made in less than 3 months. Right now we are weening her off of her daily meds and seeing how she tolerates it. We still have a couple hiccups here and there but it is bound to happen after a big surgery. Gillian does get discouraged when it takes awhile to manage her pain but we have to remind her that she just had major surgery in March. 2 days ago, Gillian woke up with severe cramp in her right calf. It was tender that day but yesterday she was having a hard time walking on it. With it getting worse as the day went on, I was concerned if it was a blood clot. Airing on the cautious side, I decided to take her into my work to scan her. She takes aspirin daily to help her platelet levels so when I found a tiny clot I was surprised. She has inflammation in the walls of the tissue with a tiny clot. We called nationwide and they weren’t too worried about it so they said stay hydrated and stay on the aspirin.
