6 Month Follow up in Ohio

We’re flying home today from Gillian’s six-month follow-up, and what a difference six months can make.

At her three-month check, I already knew the surgery was worth it—her debilitating pain was finally gone—but it still didn’t feel like she was living the life she wanted. Now, at six months, we’re in a completely different place. Gillian no longer takes any pain medication, her team is slowly weaning her off insulin, and they’re optimistic about the road ahead.

We talked about how Gillian has started running again, and when she mentioned feeling a sharp pain while running, the doctor and nurse both said , “All I heard is that you’re RUNNING! What!? That’s amazing!”

For a girl who spent much of the last 2½ years in bed because of pain, those words mean everything. Yes—she’s running again. This amazing young woman continues to be my hero.
I don’t even know how to begin to express the depth of our gratitude for your love, prayers, and generous support. You helped us reach the COTA Challenge Grant for COTA for Gillian’s TPIAT and gave Gillian the chance to heal, to move, and to live again. God is so good—and we are reminded of that every single day through the kindness, faith, and love of the people surrounding us.

“Thank you” will never be enough, but please know how deeply and sincerely grateful we are.🥹🫶💜💜💜.
