It’s been a rough week. Gillian’s abdominal pain kept getting worse after we returned from her 6-month check-up in Ohio. We discovered a hernia at the bottom of her surgical scar that needed to be repaired because it contained bowel, which was causing her significant pain.
After two ER visits over the weekend, the surgical team determined that surgery was the best option. They found multiple hernias from her surgery in March—her tissue was weaker and not healing inside the way they had hoped. Today, they reopened her original incision, cleaned out scar tissue, and placed a large mesh to help support her abdominal wall and, hopefully, allow for better healing this time.
Through it all, she remains the same lovely angel—thanking every nurse and doctor who walks into her room, showing kindness even in her deepest pain. This one hit me especially hard emotionally. When I started to cry, she looked at me and said, “Mom, I need you to stop crying, it’s making me nervous.” Oh, my precious little warrior—I tried, but I just couldn’t hold it all in today.
Please pray for a long, lasting recovery and for her pain to be managed well as she heals from yet another major surgery. Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support. We love you all so much. 💜💜
