Our baby boy Greyson arrived on September 6th at Overlake Hospital. Unfortunately, he needed immediate assistance to breathe and was taken to the NICU to have further support. After many tests and imaging, Greyson was transferred to Seattle Children’s Hospital CICU the next day because his heart wasn’t functioning normally.
Once at Seattle Children’s, it was discovered that Greyson suffered a heart attack sometime in the womb due to a coronary blood clot. This resulted in his left ventricle becoming severely damaged and having depressed function.
He has gone through 4 procedures including one surgery to get him stable enough to be listed for a heart transplant.
We’ve been traveling to Seattle Children’s each day to be with Greyson since he was transferred and through all the scary moments we’ve endured since he was born, we are so thankful to have such a strong boy who is fighting every day.
We can’t thank God enough for watching over him, our friends and family for supporting us in numerous of ways, and the best team at Seattle Children’s. Everyone’s support has helped Greyson become stronger and allowed us time to create beautiful family memories with him as we wait.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
