24 hours pancreas free

We had a mostly uneventful night last night. Jack has had to go onto a tiny bit of oxygen here and there but overall he’s crushing the pancreas-free life. He is VERY thirsty and constantly asking for water. We have to wait until likely Friday to take a few sips but until then I’m trying to load up the sponge with as much water as possible every 15 or so minutes. Our very stubborn determined child is asking every doctor for liquids in hopes that someone will cave. Classic Jack.

Jack was able to stand and move to his chair with the assistance of the physical therapist. He’s doing awesome. The nurses refer to him as an ‘easy tpi patient’ and said he has a great attitude. Let’s hope he can stay on top of the pain. His PT wants him sitting up for a couple hours before returning to bed and maybe try sitting again tonight. Tomorrow he gets to try taking a few steps.

He has already been weaned off one pain med, and will continue to be unhooked from this and that as he heals. So far so good, let’s hope we continue on this trajectory!
