It’s been a busy 48 hours! Jacks nausea is finally under control. That means he’s ready to adventure! He’s still struggling to keep food down, but his (tube) feeds are up and he’s back to nibbling at solids. His glucose levels are evening out and he’s generally in a better mood.

We finally ventured off 7A. He walked from the A wing all the way to the outdoor seating in D. The weather was perfect and the siblings joined for an hour of cards and socializing. It felt so ‘normal’. Things are much more fun when the entire gang is here. The siblings have school, so I drove them home last night. They are already asking when they can come visit again. Next time Jack should be outpatient!

The team said he cannot be outpatient until he keeps a full day’s worth of food in him, which was disappointing (and expected) to hear , but it has motivated him to be more active and try to eat more. We are all hopeful it will just be another day or two. Until then we just keep chugging along, being as active as possible and trying to keep food down.

We went on a nice walk back out to the patio this evening when I got back and he hopes to spend the day exploring and playing in the activity room tomorrow. His spirits are high and his motivation is strong.
Time heals! Can’t wait till he’s back to normal!
