Fish, Appointments, Schoolwork and Reduced Feeds

We had a busy day today! Jack has been spending most the day doing schoolwork the past week while we try to get him caught up . Today, he got to work after he woke up and even did some standardized testing. We decided to give him the afternoon off for a field trip and some hands on learning. Between appointments, we headed back to the Newport Aquarium and did a ‘behind the scene’ tour. We learned all about the many departments that keep the aquarium running and got to make treats for fish and even feed some! Jack got to touch a few species and he absorbed all the info like a sponge. His doctor got to hear a detailed recap at his afternoon appointment.

Speaking of doctors, we got great news at our afternoon appointment today. Jack is gaining back weight at a great rate and so starting tonight he only has to be on tube feeds for 12 hours! Rumor has it if we keep up at this rate, Jack might be down to only 8 hours of feeds. The doctor also was not concerned about Jack’s vomiting as he seems to be eating and digesting more every day. Tomorrow we only have physical therapy, so Jack should have plenty of time to do schoolwork AND go on an adventure. Let’s hope the weather stays nice!
