Less Tubes and bags

We had a rather uneventful afternoon/evening/night. Jack rarely sleeps while in hospital, which isn’t ideal but also I don’t blame him. It’s hard to sleep when someone is checking on you every 15 minutes. He got a nice evening nap in last night and seemed to sleep a bit during the night.

this morning he woke up with a very sore throat from the drainage tube running between his stomach and nose. Luckily it came out after rounds!

No more nose tubes!

Today we get to try ice chips and that’s very exciting! I snuck him 10oz in sponge swabs yesterday and he managed not to throw up (we had a handful of close calls) and maybe tomorrow he can drink real water and get his first food through tube. Fingers crossed we have lots of rest today and he is able to get out of bed and take a few steps. He’s currently napping as the nurses are taking more meds off. We were warned today will be the most painful day, so hopefully we can keep his spirits up!

If you want to send him a card, you can use this link! He’s in room G332 for the next few days (main campus). If you select the print option, they print them off and hand them out during mail. It’s exciting for him to see them come in!
