Out of ICU!

Another busy 24 hours! Jack exceeded all his PT goals yesterday. We had a low key evening but the night was rough. Jack had a few hours of muscle spasms and couldn’t fall asleep. It was so hard. Finally after midnight, his muscles settled enough that he got some sleep. He awoke at 3:30am vomiting which is never fun, but unfortunately to be expected. He was able to sleep 4-7am. I was worried he would wake up grumpy and miserable, but instead he awoke chipper and talkative! There’s extra drainage than expected in his stomach tube, but the surgery and pancreas team aren’t too concerned. They’re doing regular blood labs to keep an eye out.

This morning Jack was able to not only walk into the hall, but also walk an entire lap on the floor! He’s doing so well. The A-line was removed as well as some lines going to his neck port. We got the all clear to move to the endocrinology floor during rounds and we are now officially out of ICU!

Thanks for all the e-cards. Jack really enjoys them and they brighten his spirits. Our new room number is A771 so keep them coming!
