Still in Hospital but Getting Stronger!

We didn’t get out today, which we already expected. As of now, talk is maybe the 16th. Jack wasn’t able to keep anything down again today and his abdominal draining was higher today than in previous days. Nothing concerning, just about par for the course. While we so badly want to be outpatient, our spirits are high and he is moving around pretty well. Today we explored the hospital and found three separate outdoor seating areas to enjoy the warm weather.

Today I got to install jacks pump, the style he will be going home with. I was also fully in charge of making insulin adjustments and calculating carbs, but had the nurses there to verify and guide me. It was great to be able to put into action the many hours of training I’ve gone through the past two weeks. I’m feeling significantly more confident today.

while we attempted the child life playroom, ultimately Jack was exhausted by 7 and we called it a night early. Here’s hoping for a restful night and a calmer digestive system tomorrow.
