Tube Free is the Way to Be!

After 10 days of immense pain, granulated tissue growth, bleeding and frustration, Jack got his feeding tube out yesterday! Jack has kept all food down since being home. While he isn’t gaining weight, he is maintaining and his appetite is getting better every day. Fingers crossed his stoma heals quickly without complications.

we made it a family event and drove down to Cincinnati for the day. After removal, we celebrated at Scene 75. While he was being bandaged up, the NP asked if he had any questions. Without missing a beat Jack asked if he could go on roller coasters today. Yup. That sums up his recover, pushing limits and refusing to slow down. He’s supposed to take it easy the next few days which proves to be the hardest part. He’s already outside roller blading this morning…
