Jake’s transplant surgery has begun.They took him back a little before 4:00 AM this morning.He was smiling and even sent us a thumbs-up photo right before going to sleep. He was so brave and strong and didn’t shed a single tear. (Although I definitely did as soon as they took him out of sight!)

The team has successfully placed all of his access lines and he is officially with the cardiac transplant surgeon. We know it is going to be a long day and a tough recovery, but he is one step closer to the amazing life he deserves. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers today. Please keep the donor’s family in your prayers as they navigate the other side of this journey.
