Yesterday was a good day. We are praising God because Jacob is officially shedding the weight of this surgery. Yesterday, the team was able to remove an additional two chest tubes and his external pacemaker wires! Immediately post-transplant, Jacob had six tubes and drains. Today, we are rejoicing that he is down to just a single chest tube. Seeing him free of all that is an amazing reminder that he is healing and his body is taking over the work. He also worked hard yesterday completing several breathing trials, proving just how strong those lungs are getting.Right now, Jacob is back in the Cath Lab for his 2-week biopsy. While sending him off to a procedure always brings nerves, we are standing on hope. His blood labs have shown no signs of rejection, so we are praying that the biopsy confirms exactly that. We are also praying specifically that his heart pressures are normal and that no new clots are found. But we have one more massive prayer request for today.Once the procedure is finished and the sedation wears off, we are hoping that today is the day he gets extubated. We are ready to see that breathing tube gone. We are ready to see his smile and hear his voice. Please pray that his lungs are ready and that the transition is smooth. We are holding our breath, waiting for him to take his first one on his own.”Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” — Romans 12:12

Jake you are amazing!! Keep it up, we are all waiting with bated breath for you to take your first breath on your own. Congratulations om all your progress.
Praying it is as we all want for Jacob! Thanks for the updates!! Love to all of you! Harriet and Pastor Hinkle
