The update we have all been holding our breath for is finally here: Jake is home!!

Walking through our door together still feels like a dream we haven’t quite woken up from.

Today, Jacob took his “victory walk” through the hospital hallways, pausing to say goodbye to the doctors, nurses, therapists and staff who have become his lifeline over the last ten weeks. Every step he took was a step he earned and when he finally reached that bell, it was the sound of ten weeks of prayers answered, battles won, and a heart healed..

Tonight, for the first time in seventy days, the monitors are silent. There are no hospital lights or rounds, just the comfort of our own four walls. We are exhaling a breath we’ve been holding since this journey began two and a half years ago. Being back in our own space is a miracle we aren’t taking for granted for even a single second.We know the road to full healing continues, and our rhythm will look different now. But for tonight, there is a deep comfort in the simple fact that Jacob is right where he belongs.

To every one of you who carried us on the hard days, who cheered for every tiny victory, and who prayed when we didn’t have any words left to say, thank you. We felt your love every step of the way and we can never express how truly much it means!
