Our Story

Welcome to COTA for Jalen’s Kidney!
Meet Jalen Lowe! A young man that is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. At the age of 13 he developed a staph infection after a surgery. As a result, Jalen went into renal failure and has been receiving dialysis treatments for around 5 years.
This group was created to coordinate fundraising events, as well as life events, for Jalen. Our goal is to raise funds for the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in order to pay for any medical expenses in relation to Jalen’s condition. All proceeds will go directly towards any treatments, medications, or procedures Jalen may need as a result of his illness and throughout his lifetime. COTA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, so funds raised will not be considered income for the family.
Our goal is to raise a minimum of $30,000 to go towards Jalen’s cause. Donations can be made at www.cotaforjalenskidney.com.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
