Here is something I never wanted to say, but Jayce is in heart failure. His Fontan procedure did not work and we will be getting ready for a heart transplant 2025-2026. Jayce is scheduled for a cath lab December 1st this year to put another stent in his aortic arch to help blood flow come in more to help his leaking tricuspid valve, which will buy him more time until then. He will remain in the hospital until December 1st and hopefully after the cath he can come home for a little bit unless he isn’t well supported.
Over the last 2 months, Jayce’s body is unable to absorb nutrition and he is malnourished. He is weak, tired, and needs extra support from the hospital. His heart is not functioning properly enough to allow his digestive system to work. We have known, but we had other options. Now we are out of options.
Thank you for all your support and prayers. We are still in this for the long run. Instead of his HLHS path we are now going down a path for a new heart.
