The doctors have successfully removed the old heart and transplanted the new one. The anticipated six to ten hour surgery was completed in four and a half hours, as everything went very smoothly.

We are very grateful for a timely and skillful procedure! We will keep everyone updated with Jesse’s post-operation journey and his recovery.
Thank you all for your flood of prayers. Continue to pray Jesse’s body accepts this new heart without complication.

Update 7/21/24, 11:45 AM: Jesse is doing well! We are very impressed with his resiliency and his motivation to keep this process moving in such a consistent, swift manner. He is now awake, breathing on his own, responding to simple questions, following direction, and resting! Prayers that he remains recovering this positively and that his body continues to accept this heart as well as it has been thus far! Pray for peace, rest, minimal pain and continued smooth transitions.

Also, prayers for Lisa, as she remains right by Jesse’s side, holding his hand, and talking him through every step of this process. Prayers that she is able to rest all while she continues to fulfill her role of mom and keeps guiding him with her strength and unwavering support.
