Jesse is resting and doing fine. Last night he had an episode of bradycardia, which is a slower than typical heartbeat that can prevent the brain and other organs from receiving enough oxygen. His heart rate dropped down to 30 bpm, with the normal rate being between 60 to 100 bpm. Jesse’s team of nurses adjusted the levels of a few things and everything even backed out. It was a scary moment for Jesse and Lisa, but the great team at Vanderbilt has been prompt in attending to his needs.
They attempted to get Jesse up and walking this morning, but when they attempted to get him up in the chair his O2 levels dropped too low. The doctors have postponed the walking trial, bumped his O2 up, and are going to let his body recoup before trying again.
Jesse is in good spirits and ready to get out and moving! He wants everyone to know how much he appreciates all the support and prayers.
