Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day 2014

Angry Birds and Pumpkin Turkeys

We are so thankful for the abundant blessings given to our family! On Thanksgiving Day, we are especially thankful for the gift of life given to Luke this year, and of course we will never forget the gift of life given to Jordan almost two years ago. We are eternally grateful for these precious gifts. Our Donors and their families are never far from our thoughts. We often wonder what life is like for them still grieving from their loss, but finding comfort in the lives saved by their choices. We will reach out one day, hoping to put names and faces behind the thoughts of who their loved ones’ kidneys went to.  Oh what wonderful moments that will be!

It takes a village to raise our children. We are so thankful for our village, our family, for their never ending love and support, the unique bonds that the Grandparents (near and far) and our Granny continue to invests in our precious little boys’ lives. For touching our lives in a special way only someone like them can only give. Thankful for our church, our Pastors and Teachers for faithfully feeding our thirsty hearts with God’s Word. Prayed for us and served us in many different ways, when words were not even enough to express our desperate needs, they were the hands and feet of Jesus when we needed help the most. We just couldn’t imagine someone going through life without such kind of loving support.

We are so thankful for our Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Employees. Oftentimes sacrificing to work on special holidays. We became recipients of their extraordinary care on two special occasions.

So thankful for our children’s medications, their anti rejection medications that they take daily, twice a day; and that they have to take these for the rest of their living lives so they can live.

So thankful for our health insurances that help with the overwhelming cost of healthcare, our children’s hospital & Doctors’ visits.

In this economy, we are so thankful for our jobs. For having roof over our heads and foods on the table.

We are so thankful for COTA. There are so many medical expenses that we didn’t realize that weren’t covered by our insurances before, during and after transplant. It surely gives us so much peace of mind that there are funds to help our children’s transplant related expenses. So thankful for our local COTA volunteers and supporters that helped us with Jordan in the past. Please help pray that we will be able to raise funds for Luke also. As of the moment, Jordan is sharing funds with Luke that was meant to be for Jordan’s lifetime transplant related expenses. It seemed like we have reached out to our possible sources of contacts and supports already but we are trusting in the abundant supply of our loving Savior. And with this, we are thankful for another opportunity to trust God. (Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Isaiah 59:1)

We are so thankful for the ever inspiring and biggest heart, Hayden’s Hope. Let me take this opportunity to introduce to you Jordan’s heart angel back in 2011. Hayden’s Hope was one of the very first families to help Jordan and our family when we were first introduced to COTA. In their darkest moment, while still grieving over the death of their son, Hayden, the family reached out to us and gave us hope when hope alone was so hard to find. The family showed us love and compassion at the time when we needed it the most because they knew exactly what it meant to have a child on COTA. If you haven’t been following us on facebook, here is the post we shared in September, the very first time we got to meet them in their facebook page. So thankful for the awesome opportunities brought by social networking. You can follow our friend’s awesome family through their facebook page: Hayden’s Hope or visit their homepage http://www.haydenshope.org/

“Meet Jordan’s little heart angel, Hayden, who we never got the chance to meet. Just like our little Jordan, Hayden was also waiting for a life saving transplant. But God has a different plan for his precious life. Instead of Hayden receiving a new heart, new life, he gave life and hope to so many little ones. In his memory, his loving parents chose to shine, to spread silver lining and gave Jordan (and other kids) hope by sharing some of the funds they raised that would have been for Hayden’s Transplant related expenses. Jordan was their “first little Hayden’s Hope baby”. Wow!! We are so humbled and blessed to be their first chosen recipient. We are so encouraged to even do the same, to be a blessing and to shine even in our darkest moments of our lives. Thank you, Hayden’s Hope and Hayden’s family for your sweet and loving heart.”

Here is Jordan posted on Hayden’s Hope Facebook Page in July 1st, three days before Luke got transplanted:

Our first little Hayden’s Hope baby, Jordan, back in September 2011. His baby brother is currently also in need of a transplant. This family is the epitome of strength & courage. Blessed to be able to help them in Hayden’s memory.

We are thankful for the opportunities to give back. Cisco was able to bravely share our story to the American Legion Convention benefiting our very own family, COTA. He also shared our story to the CHS Finance Division Fall Giving Campaign 2014, the division winning the same award as last year. Though we cannot change the world’s problems, but so thankful for the opportunity given to share the hope that was twice given to us and to make a difference where we can. So thankful that there are still so many kindhearted and generous people out there.

We are so thankful for our awesome friends, good neighbors and  coworkers. There are times when we find so much relief and comfort being around them, knowing that we are not alone in our journey and suffering. Also rejoices with us in our triumphs and victories.

We are thankful for the growing and maturing brought by our suffering, testing and trials, to even experience the sufficiency of God’s grace. We are also thankful for the laughter and fun, the wonderful moments we get to live and the sweet memories we get to share for tomorrow is not promised.

Most of all, we are thankful to the One who gave them all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So thankful that His promises are true and we can count on Him. So thankful He is a loving Savior who died for my sins (For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16), paid the price on the cross with His life and blood (In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7), and with His death, salvation is freely given to men who would be willing to confess their sins and receive Him in their hearts as their Lord and Savior (That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10). So thankful for the forgiveness of sins ( As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12), the adoption of men (But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12).. and the security of our future (I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28) that He will be with us until the end of the world (and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Matthew 28:20). Even if in this life, if we would loose everything, even our dearest health, as long as we have Christ, we are the richest, most blessed people alive (He that hath the Son hath life. 1 John 5:12). God is so good and His love and mercy endures forever!

We hope your Thanksgiving was filled with love, well spent with family and friends, in good fellowship around foods and praises to God. Whatever we are going through in life, remember there is always, ALWAYS something to be thankful for!
