Our Story

Jordan is a twelve year old boy, who has recently undergone a Kidney Transplant. When Jordan was born with Posterior Urethral Valve, at two day’s old the surgery to correct this, left him with chronic kidney disease, kidney failure, and being placed on dialysis as an infant. Once Jordan’s condition stabilized his family had known, he would one day need a Kidney Transplant. After seeing many different doctors and getting routine blood work, November of 2022 his doctor told the family it was time for him to be evaluated for a transplant. In March 2023 Jordan had been placed on the UNOS list for a Kidney, the family received a call on April 27th 2023, that there was a kidney. April 28th undergone the surgery, successfully. After 13 day’s in the hospital he finally got to go home. Jordan will be on immune suppressant medication for the rest of his life. With an amazing support from his family including Mom & Dad, Step Mom & Step Dad, Grandparents, Big Brother, Little Sister, & Big Step Sister, along with many cousins. 

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
