It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to update on Kadence current status. This journey has been incredibly daunting and extremely challenging to say the least.
I feel like every day is so long but I know God’s plan is not for us to know. I do my best to keep the bright light inside this beautiful young man bright, happy, hopeful, and faithful. He is truly amazing champion in getting through even the toughest of days.
thank you for all the continued love, support, and prayers.
Kadence’s kidney function is still 12% BUT Dr. Willig is willing to give him until April/May to get through school before we start HEMO Dialysis 3-4 times per week, here at CMH. Each treatment would be 5 hrs long, he would have a port in his chest but an IV in his neck.
Talk about crazy. We have to keep his potassium lower than a 6 to protect his heart from heart failure. Phosphorus has to stay below a 10, it’s at a 7
If either of those get higher and he stops urinated he will have to start Dialysis.
She can’t tell me where he’s at on the Kidney Deceased Donor List but she said he’s pretty high.
She is hopeful he may get the Transplant when Summer starts.
