Kason update post op day 29:

There is not enough information to do daily updates anymore so I have been spreading them out. Kason is doing fantastic and Joseph and I are getting a little more sleep. We have been going to outpatient appointments and getting wonderful news from each one of them. Kason has transitioned off lovenox injections for his bloodclots over to Xerelto pills. He is still off all his pain meds and has even stopped his muscle relaxers and pills to increase his appetite. We couldn’t be any prouder of how he has handled all this.
We enjoyed an evening with an astronomy group at Ronald McDonald House last night. Unfortunately it was cloudy but in between the clouds we saw amazing shots of the moon and learned a lot.
I had asked for prayers for another 14 yr old boy that was having the same surgery Kason had. I am happy to report he is doing good and now that he is out of the hospital, the boys are getting to spend some time together. We also met a girl who had this surgery 18 months ago and is here for her regular check up. Her and her dad both had wonderful things to report since her surgery and it was fun getting to see these 3 kids together. They all suffered a lot before their surgeries and deserve pain free lives.
Thank you for the continued prayers for Kason as he heals. The time to come home is getting closer and we are all ready for that day to come sooner rather than later. We are having a Welcome Home Event so please, save the date May 15th. Details to come very soon. We hope to see you all there!!
