AMAZING NEWS!! Kason update post op day 30

Today was an emotional roller-coaster. In Cincinnati, we received amazing news about Kason. We were supposed to be here for 6-8 weeks but were fully discharged today in week 4. His recovery has been smooth and we couldn’t have prayed for a better outcome. We full so blessed that this is our outcome and are looking forward to hitting the road tomorrow back to KC.
As some of you know, my niece in Atlanta has been battling a bone marrow transplant for almost 2 years. It has been an up and down battle for her but lately there has not been many ups. Today while we received great news and are thankful, my stepmom, sisters and niece received the worst news possible. She was put on a ventilator and told her kidneys are failing and there is not much hope. Kason and I took Joseph to the airport today so he can be with our family in Atlanta that just feel broken right now.
We were sad to see him go and to be honest, I broke down. Knowing you have another adult with you gives you confidence that everything will be ok but Kason and I are strong and we will make our journey back to KC together tomorrow.
Please pray for safe travels for us and give God the glory for seeing Kason through this. Please pray that God’s will be done in my niece’s life. If she is healed here on earth, we will rejoice. If she is healed in heaven, we will be broken, but will rejoice knowing her pain is over.
It is so difficult to be happy right now but we are trying.
I have attached some pictures of Kason, one of Joseph leaving us at the airport, one of Prestyn all packed up to come home and also the flyer for our “Welcome Home” dinner. Please save the date and join us if you are able. All the proceeds will go to COTA (Children’s organ transplant association) to help with Kason’s transplant related expenses.
