The Good, Bad, and Ugly!

From Keegan’s mom, Kerensa…

I rarely post the bad and ugly. However, a good friend said it’s ok to be honest that life isn’t always rainbows and smiles. Keegan had to go see his rheumatologist yesterday. What should have been a quick visit and no expected new outcomes. Sadly, I was wrong and we ended up re-adding PT to our specialists. He likes PT so it isn’t horrible just one more issue that we have to deal with now. On the even more cruddy issues, he had to go to the lab. Although it was a confusing issue about labs or no labs, we got it done without giving the ugly details. As I watched the labs pop into MyChart, I knew that some are concerning. The worst being his CO2 and inflammation levels are climbing once again. I haven’t heard back from his doctors yet to know a plan. Keegan’s lung disease does not allow his body to exchange gases normally. In the meantime, we have some fun plans this next week, but sometimes I hate lung disease for him. The what could happen or when will the transplant call gets to be obnoxious to think about sometimes. I want him to just have fun like any other 9yr old little boy. Today as I am driving with him to meet his sister, I am choking tears as I scream in my head at God! I know our kids are a gift from God. He gave me 6 and I love them dearly. He knows I wanted a big family. We have had to give 2 back to Him long before they had reached their dreams. I feel the anger as I watch Keegan not be like everyone else and stuck waiting to see if God is going to give him new lungs. Amongst my thoughts and tears, I hear a cracking and hoarse voice singing at the top of his lungs as best he can to “his” radio station- 93.3 WAKW. The song was “God Is In Control”!
