Holy macaroni and cheese. We have met our goal! We may increase the goal, let me explain why.

Kidney transplant recepients, expecially those that are very young, usually need to have multiple transplants within their lifetime. A living donor’s kidney has a functional expectancy of about 12 years. This will only increase in the future as immunosuppressant medications become more efficient and as the efficacy of those medications increases. Health science is always improving.

 In twelve years, Leaven will have life changes. He will age out of being under his parents insurance. He will be on his own path in life. Of course his family and friends will be there to support him, but having the peace of mind where he doesn’t have to worry about the monetary trials is priceless. The help that COTA funds is providing is PRICELESS.
