Just wanted to pop on here and update since we are just past 5 months post transplant! Overall we feel that Krew is a fairly healthy little boy! He continues to get blood draws and meet with the transplant team regularly! We have seen some reduction in medication which is monitored constantly. We have had no major setbacks HOWEVER we are kept on our toes with every sneeze, cough, and fever, etc.. Thank goodness they are few and far between! Krew is ALL BOY! He loves to play, adventure, run around, and meeting all the milestones of any toddler his age!

With that being said, we are now into the RSV, cold/flu season. We will have to take extra precautions to keep Krew healthy and safe because of his immunosuppressant. His inability to fight infections is caused by his anti rejection drug, he will be on for life. Because of Krew’s immune system being suppressed, it may take him 2-3 times longer to recover from illness and could most likely include a hospital stay. We enjoy our happy, loving, funny little boy, and we have accepted that caution is our new way of life.
