January is Full of Treatments

The biopsy results came back and they’re pretty confident it is not rejection. They believe the adenovirus in his liver is causing inflammation.  He has no other symptoms of being sick and the labs showed copies of the virus were greatly reduced after the Cidofovir infusions.

They’re insistent Landon needs Cidofovir infusions for 3 hours three times a week to protect his liver. Last time he was on the infusions, he got pancreatitis so we’re very concerned. The care team says they’d rather deal with him losing his pancreas than damaging his liver. So we will proceed with treatment and continue to monitor labs throughout the process.

For all of January, Landon will be receiving infusions Mondays, Tuesdays (cancer treatments in the cities), Wednesdays and Fridays and we don’t know what February will look like yet.

The good news is that it’s not rejection and we can start weaning Landon off steroids again. Hopefully then he can return to his normal sleep schedule!
