Post-op Day 20

Leila had an another great day! She continues to progress well with her breathing and her feeds. We are thankful for this.

We did get some news today from the transplant team that we don’t love. While Leila’s kidney function has continued to be good she has developed an antibody against the kidney. The numbers are currently small and they are hoping they can decrease them by increasing her steroid dose. The thought of potential rejection this early is scary, but our team has a plan…and a back up plan…and a back up plan for the back up plan! Please pray with us that Leila would respond well to the steroid, and that her antibody numbers would be lower or nonexistent when they retest on Monday.

Onto more fun news! Leila was a very happy girl today. When she was awake she was all smiles and play! She got a balloon from the transplant team and thought it was the best thing ever! She watched some Bluey from Daddy’s lap this afternoon and sat herself up like a big girl! We are so proud of her!
