Lily is an amazing 16-year-old with 6 siblings. Her life changed in late December – a healthy teenager hunting with her dad when she had a seizure. She spent 11 days at Manning Children’s Hospital, in New Orleans, where she started emergency dialysis for end stage renal disease. Through the weeks we discovered she has a genetic condition of her complement system (CfI) that shut down her kidneys. It’s an ultra-rare condition. Her treatments are very expensive but help control her overactive immune system.
Currently she is being reviewed for transplant at Texas Children’s in Houston. Her sister has matched and will be donating her kidney this fall. Meandering aHUS diagnosis and needing a transplant has been difficult, but Lily is driven to enjoy today and fight for tomorrow. Thank you for reading her story and helping raise funds for COTA in Lily’s honor. God bless.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Heather, I’m so sorry Lillie is going through this will be praying for her strength and health!
Thank you Rachel. We appreciate the prayers. It’s been a rough year.
I would like to make a transaction; however, my bank continues to view this site as a scam,
Can you give me some direction as to what I should do to proceed to benefit Lily Plaisance?
Chris Bowman
Hi Chris,
This is Leslie Dufrene Plaisance. I know Heather helped you with you donation, but I wanted to say how thankful we all are for that contribution. Monte is my step-son. I hope you are doing well. God Bless and Merry Christmas.
