After 6 and a half long weeks. Harper was finally discharged yesterday! Happy day for all. We are so thankful for all of these wonderful people and MANY MANY more that took care of both of our girls through their transplants!
Harper is coming home with more care needed than sawyer did so, we are at an air bnb that is closer to the hospital than my parents house. We are sooo happy to be out of the hospital. Harper and I finally got to sleep through the night last night at our air bnb with no interruptions! She has 3 IV medications we have to manage at home and about 6 oral meds, along with tube feeds. It’s still better than being trapped at the hospital! She will go for twice weekly appointments.
She was supposed to be discharged Tuesday but, she had a severe reaction to the platelets given about an hour before being discharged. She had severe abdominal pain that turned into shaking uncontrollably, then vomiting. It was a whole mess.
Meanwhile, Sawyer has been in Phoenix all week for daily remdesivir Infusions. She started having fevers Sunday morning and was found to have freaking COVID of all things. Honestly, she is symptom free other than the 3 occasions she had fevers Sunday/Monday. We are super thankful she is doing so well and it doesn’t seem to be effecting her. It has created a whole other issue with the girls not being able to see each other but, thank goodness for our village. Grandpa has rescued us and taken sawyer to all of her appt this week while I stay quarantined with Harper.
