December Update- Harper Goes Home!!

It been unreasonably long since I have updated you all on our lovely ladies’ progress.

Sawyer is doing fantastic. She is pretty much living normal life with few to no restrictions. As of December 5th, she is officially one year post transplant! She is down to only one medication and she should be able to stop that in another few more months. Her school has been absolutely wonderful with being flexible and allowing her to catch up from the last year of chaos we have had.

Harper got her broviac out last week on Thursday!!! That means we all got to come home to show low together on Friday for the first time in almost 6 months. She is having some minor skin issues but, we are working on it. Her team does not feel that these skin issues are GVHD, and that she is likely just having a harder time getting through the dryness and hair regrowth that all transplant patients experience. She is still taking zofran in the mornings for her nausea but, overall she is feeling good. She is still on tons of oral meds as most transplant patients are for quite some time. The cold has been a challenge for her, as she is just cold all the time and hates wearing an actual winter coat or a hat on her poor little nearly bald head. Hopefully that will get better once we are in the house. Trailer living is not for the faint of heart 😂

If anyone is looking for a last minute tax refund, we are still always looking for donations to cotaforlindsaygirls.com these fund have been life saving for our family. Not having to stress about the next medical bill coming (there’s a lot even after transplant). Being able to get reimbursement for a hotel stay so we don’t have to worry about driving at 3am to get to PCH by 6:30am for transplant visits. COTA and everyone who has contributed has really taken a huge burden off of us during a very stressful and hectic time for our family. We thank you ALL who have contributed! We could never truly express our gratitude ❤️ I will try to update more often.
