We received a final confirmation yesterday that both Lola and Mikes surgeries will take place on December 3rd.

Mike had a final pre-op appointment yesterday so they could re-run his labs, run some additional tests and were able to discuss in more detail the surgeries. All the test and labs looks great and the surgeon informed us that Mike’s left lob which is about 1/3 of his liver, is perfect for Lola!!! 

Mike will go into surgery first and will take place about two blocks away from childrens hospital at UCHEALTH where Lola’s surgery will happen.  Mikes surgery will be about 4-6 hours while simultaneously Lola will be getting prepped and ready for her new liver. About halfway through Mikes surgery is when his left liver lobe will be removed and escorted to Lola. Once the liver gets to Lola they will be able to complete her transplant surgery, all of which will last 8-12 hours. 

We are soaking in all the family time this Thanksgiving and preparing for this next hurdle. We are so beyond thankful for all the support we continue to receive! We will send out updates as the surgery day comes.
