Lucy Goes Wireless

Lucy got to do something very cool today! If you live in the Chicago area, you may have seen the news about engineering and medical teams at Northwestern and Lurie working to develop wireless vital sign sensors. Wireless sensors mean patients will one day not have to be hooked up to so many cords! The project is still in the early stages of development and will not be implemented in hospitals for several years, but Lucy got to test out one of the prototypes today!

We were thrilled to participate! Lucy was admitted to Lurie for the first time when she was three days old, and many times after that. We would have loved to have been able to bond with her and get to know her without having to navigate so many wires. We love that Lucy could help in small way so that one day other families can use this technology with their babies!
