Today was a hard lab

Luke had labs today and for the first time we tried a lab in the Fairview system that was closer to our house.  Because he will need labs so frequently post transplant, they advised that many people choose a more convenient location if their center is farther away.  Although the Univeristy isn’t far, it turns a 5 minute appt into a two hour excursion going to the hospital.  So today we tried a lab in Eden Prairie, about 10-15 minutes from our house.  On days Luke only has labs, versus a clinic appt, we thought we’d use this location.  Well, it wasn’t a great experience.  I honestly don’t know how to explain it, other than saying it felt wrong.  And poor Luke, he had big alligator tears.  He asked if we could please go to the hospital…..????.  It isn’t intended for peds, so the experience working with kids isn’t as great.  So I’m going back to the drawing board to try and find another option.  But truth be told, if there isn’t one, then I will drive a few times a week to the U, if it means giving him even a little more peace of mind.   Now we wait for results.  Praying there aren’t any signs of the infection growing and that the current medication combo is working well enough to keep it under control.

Create Joy and have a great evening!
