Day 21 – August 24, 2024

“Pray without ceasing” 1 Thess 5:11
I remember doing a challenge in my 20s : set clock for an hour and note how many times fear came in. It was a lot. This person comes to my mind now why it’s written in scripture. Our mind is constantly running and it can take hold. What thoughts will we hold and part from? The first day of Mac’s transplant was very scary. He immediately came out of surgery with a fever of 103. And it lasted for 2 days. Ice baths ensued, questions were asked if he was ill or any of us were ill, if the kidney was accepting, and then a fellow doctor looked at me in the eyes and said it has to be a virus. Whew. Rebuke it. Pray without ceasing. All I could rely on was God’s word. Infectious disease was called in, I was questioned over everything Mac did the month prior. All for good reason but not coming to agreement. Psalm 69:16 “Answer my prayers oh Lord for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me for your mercy is so plentiful” the fevers subsided day 3. Fear flees with prayer.

“sometimes we cry out & the grace we are wanting is the grace of release. We want the difficulty to be over. But sometimes He doesn’t answer in the grace of release but with grace of refinement” a pastor I watched referring to John 6:16. Wow that 48 hours wasn’t fun but what did that do to our faith- refined it.
We’ve had a good day. Mac’s currently eating a bag of chips that I’m not allowed to touch, we played with some magnatiles from our friends at villages, & a memory match game with our family from the Mabrys. Mac still has outbursts but we continue because he eventually gives in to the play time and it helps him so much. We went on another walk in the garden. Pray for full health- no evil shall harm us psalm 91 for we are under our Father’s shelter, strengthen our lungs and our kidney to stay strong as it is.

What can we pray for as a family over you and your family? I want to know!
