An Addition To The Family

We have had such a great time over the past couple weeks while Mallory has been home from the hospital. Lots of family time with special out-of-town visitors too! One of the most special moments we had was Mallory being invited to be a Team Summer kid and received the most amazing gift!
When Mallory was first diagnosed she was notified by a wonderful friend of mine from middle/high school Ryan Krug to become a Team Summer kid. We had never heard of this wonderful organization and wow are they amazing! Team Summer understands that only another child with cancer can truly understand what these kids are going through. They have created a support network for kids who have or have had cancer in the past. A big part of becoming a Team Summer kid is receiving a gift presented by another child.
Dustin Hall and I thought long and hard about what the perfect gift for Mallory would be to help her through her treatments. One of her very favorite things at the hospital is being with the therapy dogs – what a perfect gift if we could surprise her with her own dog! So the organization went to work and last week Mallory was blessed with the sweetest Golden Retriever named Daisy! She has really started to get used to our family and has been a perfect addition!
Today Mallory and I are back at the hospital for a CT scan. This will be her first scan since July 27th so we are anxiously waiting for the results. We will then come back again tomorrow morning for labs and as long as her blood counts have recovered, she will be admitted for her next round of chemo which should be another week inpatient for the treatment.
For our prayer warriors, we ask for prayers for good results from her CT scan and that her blood counts have recovered so that we can start her next round of chemotherapy! ????????????????????????
