Keep Those Prayers Coming

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support for Mallory and her procedure today.
While in for her biopsy, the surgeon found that the mass was actually able to be completely removed. It was mainly free-flowing in her belly – attached only to a small part of her intestine and appendix. So he removed it with her appendix and a very small part of her intestine. This is great news in that they can now do a biopsy of the entire thing and know what to do next! And from my perspective, any piece of that nasty tumor staying in her body – scar tissue or not – I don’t want it in my little girl!
Through all of this, you learn a lot. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as – the mass is now gone so we are good. Our best case scenario is the mass and the margins come back cancer-free – we would then proceed with her last round of chemo! If it is all cancerous – tumor and margins, more aggressive treatment would still be needed. The scenario in the middle is more complex.
It may take a few days for results so for now we are letting our girl heal from surgery. She’s been pretty uncomfortable today so we are managing her pain so she can heal and get back to herself.
Love you all and please keep the prayers coming because they are working!
