Mia has been released from UCSF Children’s Hospital and will be staying in San Francisco close to the hospital for 2-3 months for continual care and monitoring. She has labs drawn and medications adjusted every 2 days. Her doctors are very pleased with her recovery.
Nyah is healing well and without complications as her body adjusts to having one kidney. She will stay in SF for a couple more weeks and then return to Paradise for Fall semester at Butte Community College.
Shasta will stay in San Francisco for the long-run, returning to Paradise periodically for short visits over the next couple of months. Jason will be coming back to Paradise with Ethan and Ireland to get them ready for the start of school in mid-August.
Meanwhile, the family of five is staying at Family House, just down the street from UCSF. Founded in 1981, Family House is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization providing temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital.
