Hello, friends of Miranda and Joel,
It’s time for a brief update, and the best summary I can offer is that each day seems to bring the unexpected! In the last week there were great days when Miranda was alert, engaged, and in good spirits. She can talk up a storm, like on Tuesday when I visited and we discovered a dozen or more mutual acquaintances, some whom Miranda knew from college! And then the next day she fell out of bed in the night and had to visit the ER to be checked out.
The last few days Miranda has shown some signs that something was going on. Her speech wasn’t as clear and neither was her thinking and remembering, etc. So Joel, in conversation with her doctors, decided that she needed to be checked out again at St. Francis hospital. After a few tests, they determined that she has a UTI and will admit her and keep her for a few days.
As you can imagine, this is very, very stressful on Joel and the kids. They never know what each day will hold. Some days are sweet and good and hopeful. Others are discouraging and exhausting. Please, please continue to pray for her healing and for all those close to her to experience the strength and comfort of God. This will be a long journey.
