Dear friends of Miranda—

Yesterday was a day of praise, as we were able to witness answers to prayer, little by little. I’ve listed below some of the movements that were reported by those at the hospital yesterday. We are so thankful for all these moments, no matter how small/large they seem to be!!

• Miranda is wiggling her toes on command!!
• The MRI done Tuesday evening showed almost nothing where there had previously been a sign of something. The neurologist was very encouraged and said, from a brain standpoint, she didn’t see any reason Miranda shouldn’t be able to show a full recovery. (Let’s pray this is the case!!)
• Some news regarding the kidney: There seems to be some numbers that were elevated once off of dialysis, which are related to stress on the kidney. Due to that, they placed Miranda back onto dialysis for some time to see if they can determine what is occurring.  The neurologist is going to talk with nephrology to see what they think about a possible link between her cognition and the kidney stress.  
• Miranda seems to be demonstrating movement of more parts of her body (little in the legs, resistance in her arms, toes on command, eyes on command). Additionally, it appears that she slightly nodded her head a few times, as well!!
• Miranda was much more expressionistic and listened intently as conversations took place, especially regarding the kids! She responded to questions with her facial expressions about a number of topics. She is looking better and more relaxed!

Specific Prayer Requests:

• Continued improvements with mobility and cognitive responses/communication!
• Continued kidney improvement
• Clarity within the medical team regarding what has caused some of the cognitive/communication difficulties and guidance on treatment options.
• Continued health for Joel and those caring for Miranda. With schools back in session, and following the holidays, there are increased numbers regarding colds, flu and covid. Overall, the goal is to protect Miranda (and her family) from any illnesses, as to provide for continual progress and not cause any additional setbacks.
• Continual/quality rest for Joel, as well as clarity and understanding as he speaks with numerous doctors. 
• Clear and consistent communication with the medical team. (It’s never known when a doctor will come to the room with more information.)

Overall, we can’t thank you all enough for your prayers!! We believe God is answering them! Thank you!!
