Our Story

Nate is a five-year-old boy with a love for life. He is his dad’s best shadow, his mom’s best cuddler and his sister’s best friend.

He is at his happiest when he is playing with cars, going to school, riding the tractor, going through the car wash and spending time with his family.

At only a few weeks old Nate was diagnosed with Methylmalonic Acidemia, a rare metabolic disorder in which the body is unable to process certain proteins and fats properly. He experiences frequent vomiting and hospitalizations, is gtube-dependent and now relies on a liver and kidney transplant to regain his health and happy life.

Our family will be temporarily relocating from Buffalo, NY, to Pittsburgh, PA, to undergo the dual transplant. We have partnered with The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to help ease the financial stress while we focus solely on Nate’s continued healthcare. Please consider donating to COTA in honor of Nate to assist with transplant-related expenses.

We want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes throughout Nate the Great’s journey!

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
