Our Story

On April 14, 2022, Noah woke up in the middle of the night with a bump on his neck and difficulty breathing. Immediately, Noah was taken to urgent care, but nothing was coming up. As a mother I  followed my instincts and took Noah to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he was admitted. Many tests were run over the next few days. Unfortunately, on April 22nd Noah was diagnosed with T-cell Non-Hodgkin lymphoblastic. At this time, Noah is going through chemotherapy but soon will need a bone marrow transplant. Sadly, a lot of the medication and bills the insurance company will not cover. With your donations to COTA in honor of Noah, COTA can relieve some of the stress and struggles my family is going through.

Noah’s fight all began in March of 2017. Noah was only 2 years old when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He fought that war like a warrior for 3 and a half years. Thankfully, in June of 2020, Noah was able to victoriously ring the bell. It saddens me that Noah is in this situation again and has to be a warrior and fight, when he should be enjoying his childhood.

Life has given Noah a very hard time, but every day he surprises me for how strong he remains. He’s so full of life and has an optimistic view of everything. He loves interacting with other kids and is an amazing brother to his 5 siblings. You can never find him without his big bright smile, even on the worst of days.

From the bottom of our hearts, we graciously appreciate and thank everyone for your help and support.

With love,
Noah and The Rivas Family

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
