Our Story

Ryan was diagnosed at 13 years old with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy after a sudden cardiac arrest at school in March 2022. His condition has progressively gotten worse over the last 2 years, leading to the decision that he will need a new heart in order to live a healthy, normal life. He is an active member of the Moore county band and the Lynchburg community. He loves to joke around with his friends and family and is a very loving and talkative individual. We would like to thank everyone for all their prayers and love during this time.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
