Our Story

Jules and Marie Danhoui thank God for the life of their son, Salomon. He was born in Ghana on April 6, 2005 when his parents moved there from Togo as refugees. Salomon, along with his parents, three sisters and one brother, arrived in Dayton, Ohio in 2014 under the Refugee Resettlement Program. Since then the family became US Citizens in October 2019. When they first arrived in Ohio, Salomon started school immediately and is currently in middle school. His favorite subject is math, which he excels in. He loves soccer and enjoys playing FIFA. Salomon also enjoys working with communication and electronic devices and hopes to pursue a computer engineering degree in college.

Salomon and his sister both share the disorder of sickle cell disease. In 2018 Salomon began having kidney issues and started dialysis three times per week at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. His parents provide transportation to the appointments. He is currently waiting for a kidney transplant and has been on the waiting list since November 2019.

Jules and Marie would like to thank you for your prayers, support and all of your help. God bless you all.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
