We had Sam’s oncology appointment today. Dr. Wong reported that Sam’s bone marrow aspiration showed nearly undetectable levels of b-ALL and decreased levels of cml. Incredible outcomes proving the effectiveness of the immunotherapy used for his second round of treatment.
Sam’s bloodwork showed improved numbers for hemoglobin and platelets. His body is recovering from the cancer and the initial round of chemo.
Sam’s oncologist reported that his liver enzymes remain at a high level so we will continue to monitor his liver function. But overall, an extremely positive and hopeful report!
Sam will begin his third round of chemo on December 2. This means he will enjoy Thanksgiving at home with his family and friends, no pumps or procedures to cause stress or discomfort.
We are joyful and grateful for this holiday to embrace our family and friends and to celebrate Sam’s progress and the upward trajectory of his journey.
We will keep climbing, together!
Fantastic news Sam!! We’re so happy you’ll be home for Thanksgiving! Keep climbing!
This is such a wonderful update! You got this Sam!
