Sarah had a good night. She remains heavily sedated but is aware of where she is and nods in understanding when she is spoken to. Sarah’s left lung area has been bleeding largely a result of scar tissue and she received blood products.  So, she has been taken back to the OR this morning for what they call a “wash out” and to check the new lungs. The lungs look good.

The big news of the day was when Sarah’s ventilator was removed! She’s now breathing on her own with oxygen support.
