Our Story

From the moment our sweet baby Jasmine came into the world, her bright eyes, chubby cheeks, and joyful spirit filled our lives with endless light. She is the center of our universe, a resilient, smiling bundle of joy who brightens every room she enters.

Right now, our sweet girl is fighting for her life.

We recently received news that no parent is ever prepared to hear: Jasmine’s liver is failing.

Her medical team has made it clear that her only path to a long, healthy life is an urgent, life-saving liver transplant. Watching our tiny daughter navigate sterile hospital rooms, endless IV lines, and complex medical testing breaks our hearts every single day. Yet, through all the pain and discomfort, Jasmine still looks up at us and flashes her signature, beautiful smile. She is a fighter, but she cannot win this fight alone.

As her parents, we would give anything to take this away from her. But today, we are facing an impossible mountain.

Because our family is navigating this medical crisis independently without traditional health insurance, we are directly responsible for 100% of the overwhelming costs. From the specialized transplant surgery and intensive care unit stay to her lifelong anti-rejection medications, the financial toll is astronomical, far beyond what any family could ever carry on their own.

Beyond the surgery itself, Jasmine’s recovery will require 24/7 care at her bedside and frequent travel to specialized medical facilities. We are doing everything humanly possible to hold our world together, but to save our daughter, we need to ask for help.

COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
